Dear Customer,
Greetings,
We are very proud and grateful that you have chosen Sangamic Yazd Automatic Mosaic. In order to achieve the highest quality, durability, and strength of the product, please observe the following points during installation.
- Ensure adequate compaction of the installation subbase, especially in outdoor areas, through ground compaction, execution of lime concrete, or lean concrete.
- Before starting the installation, soak the mosaic tiles in water for 2 days. This helps the mosaic adhere better to the mortar.
- In outdoor areas or building floors, spread a 5 cm layer of sand. This prevents organic materials in the soil, along with moisture, from reaching the surface and causing discoloration around the edges of the product.
- Due to thermal stresses and the expansion and contraction of the mosaic, if it is used outdoors, it is essential to provide a millimeter-sized joint between each two tiles or expansion joints of 2 cm in a 2.5 to 3 meter grid pattern. Please note that during warm seasons, the absence of expansion joints can cause edge breakage or detachment of the mosaic from the surface.
- The best mortar for laying double-layer mosaics (30 mm) consists of washed sand with particles up to 5 mm in diameter and a cement content of 300 kg per cubic meter.
When laying single-layer products (17 mm), the subbase should be prepared in the same manner as for ceramic tiles. Then, a soft mortar consisting of stone powder or screened washed sand with a minimum cement content of 400 kg per cubic meter of mortar should be used. In addition, it is preferable to add concrete adhesive to the mortar according to instructions, or use adhesives available on the market for ceramic or tile installation.
It should be emphasized that failure to observe these points may result in the separation of single-layer mosaics from the underlying mortar (due to the very low surface water absorption of this type of mosaic), eventually causing loosening or breakage.
- Please note that single-layer mosaics should not be used in outdoor spaces and open areas because of the adverse effects of thermal expansion.
- When grouting patterned products (yard paving mosaics), ensure that the grout does not enter the grooves under any circumstances, as this will fill the grooves and impair the appearance and beauty of the work. For grouting, manual equipment with a narrow nozzle may be used.
- Please note that if less than one month has passed since the product was manufactured, adequate moisture must be provided after installation in order to increase strength.
- Do not diminish the beauty of your project by using the few mosaic tiles that may be damaged or defective for any reason.
